Cars + People = Bad Idea

So. Have you ever noticed that even though automobiles come equipped with turn signals, people don't seem to use them very often?

One of the lessons I remember from driver's education is to signal well before the turn (so other drivers know what we're doing), slow down, and then make the turn (assuming that it was safe to do so). Why do I seem to be the only one on the road to get that?!
